Get Out There!

It all begins with a dot on the map! My family which consists of my wife Lindsay, our two kids Audrey and Maverick plus Tripper the dog. All fell in love with the idea to travel full-time. When we first started talking about this dream most of our family and friends thought we were crazy and didn’t approve. Their disapproval was the driving force to get us out there even faster! I’m a hands on kind of guy. My skills vary from welding, to building electrical panels, and even photography. I worked as a mechanic for a few years and followed that with running a municipality water department for 14 years. So working from the road was going to be difficult as my work isn’t something I can take with me. Thats when fate struck. Friends of ours that have lived full-time for 6 years just happened to be driving past us. When their truck broke down during a pandemic it proved difficult for them to get it repaired in time to get to the RV they were en-route to buy. I drove him 3 hours away to look at the unit which turned out to not be what they were told it was. It was clear to me that they would have likely bought this RV if I didn’t take a closer look, only because they had their hearts set on this new-to-them home on wheels. They were looking through “rose colored glasses” so to speak. Because I was an unbiased party along for the ride, and I have a good mechanical background it was easy for me to point out some of the major imperfections. This opened my eyes to the RV inspection business and a way to use my hands and knowledge on the road to provide for my family. Becoming an NRVIA certified inspector would combine my love for RV travel with my love for hands on work. my mission is to help others get out and explore the road less traveled.
